The Atlanta Braves have claimed Ruben Gotay off of waivers.
Mets fans, prepare yourself for all the time Gotay gets a hit off of us in the coming year(s).
In other news, Steven Register was returned to the Colorado Rockies and Anderson Hernandez was optioned to AAA.
So long Cash, we barely knew ye. AHern, stay healthy, you're our backup infielder waiting in the wings, again.

why, why, why. normally i trust omar, but you dont throw away a young 2nd baseman that can hit. this will come back to hurt us. either he'll get a big hit off of us, or we will be screwed when castillo goes down.

I am a bum. Apparently he'll be on our 25-man roster to start the season.
I'm off to watch the exhibition game vs. the Indians. Baseball is back in Atlanta, and I can't wait for the home opener Monday.

Anyway, how's the feeling in NY about Gotay? I never heard his name until today. I hear he can't hit left handed pitching but he should be a good pickup for us.
Why didn't y'all get Thorman? He say there all day and 29 teams said "no thanks".

Hey JB,
Most of NY thought he'd be our 2B before Castillo came about. Then we all thought he'd be our #1 backup. Then we thought he'd be our utility infielder.
He can't hit lefties for sh*t, and his glove is OK, but nothing great.
He's young, has a nice bat, and can play decent D.
It's a good pick up for you.
